My name is Sarah Eason & I am your new Circuit Administrator.
My parents Jim & Pauline went to Sandhill Road Methodist Church, & I was baptised at St Andrews Methodist Church.
For many years I, along with my parents, attended St Andrews. Eventually we transferred our membership to Harpole and have been there ever since.
I have been an Officer in the Boys Brigade for over 30 years and run the Anchor Boys' Section for lads of 5-8 years old.
I am also a Parish Councilor, working on the Planning Committee and Highways. I am a Trustee of The Harpole Charities, Secretary and Safeguarding Officer in Harpole Methodist Church.
I am a keen gardener, I like walking, bird watching, I love the sea and I enjoy spending time with my friends & family — Parents, Brothers, Nieces, Nephew and Great Nieces.
The Circuit Office is open 9am-1pm Mon—Fri - Don’t forget I am here to help.
I was recruited to the role of Lay Pastoral Assistant for the Eastern Section of the Circuit in 2000. My main task is to meet the pastoral needs of the members and adherents at Park Avenue and Great Billing, where necessary liaising with the Pastoral Visitors at those churches and the Ministerial Team. This mainly involves visiting, as the need arises, those who are sick, bereaved or are experiencing other problems. Also visiting on a regular basis those who are no longer able to attend church services or events to provide an ongoing link to their church and to supplement the visiting undertaken by the Pastoral Visitors. The work is sometimes demanding but always satisfying and rewarding.
I am a founder member and heavily involved with the Live at Home Scheme which is a volunteer based scheme offering support and friendship to older people in the community who may be isolated and lonely. The scheme, which was initiated by, and operates from Park Avenue as a form of outreach, is supported by the church generally and by individual members.
Kate, my wife, and I have been members at Park Avenue since 1985. We have family in Spain and France so make regular trips abroad and to Yorkshire where Kate’s family live. I am also a Committee Member of the local Probus Club which provides another link into the community and provides me with an interest beyond my involvement with church activities.
