I came to Northampton as a young music teacher in my first job – and I am still here! I attended Queensgrove Church where I soon became involved with the Choir and Girl Guides, and later ran a Mums & Tots group, a Rainbow Unit and a Youth Club. I met Roy at Queensgrove and we married and raised a family. Over the years we have enjoyed working together leading worship music, and we still do, although our membership is now at Great Billing chapel. I value the support of working ecumenically in a village and I especially enjoy meeting for Prayer Breakfasts at Billing and Bible studies at Roade.
We have two sons and now two lovely granddaughters. I play the viola in several orchestras and my hobbies are Scottish Dancing and learning Spanish.
My motivation as a Circuit Steward is to be a support to the ministers, an encourager to the local churches, and a facilitator of good management procedures in the Circuit. One of my favourite worship songs when I was younger was “I want to serve the purpose of God in my generation”. Even though I am retired and in an older generation I still love the challenge of these words!
Married to Jenny with three children Naomi, Matthew and Rebecca.
I have worshipped at St Andrews since it opened, and prior to that attended the old Harlestone Road. I have been an accredited local preacher for 32 years. I am the Financial Controller at Northampton General Hospital where duties vary from ensuring charity donations are banked to preparation of the Annual Accounts.. Prior to this I was a Rail Industry Accountant.
Spare time ? Gardening, supporting the Saints and railway modelling.
